Self Catering NITB Awards 2002-2003

QUALITY WINS TOP AWARD

Golfkeel self-catering units has won the top award in the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards for 2002-2003 and also 2004-2005.

Held at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast on the 6^th March 2002 and celebrating its 25^th Anniversary, Golfkeel won the highly coveted Self-Catering Premises of the year for 2002-2003, beating over two hundred and fifty entries at the awards ceremony. Oonagh & John O'Neill received the award from NITB Board Member Mandy Martin for the NITB approved five star Golfkeel cottages.

John Douglas Tourism Officer for Banbridge District Council and Vice Chairman of the Council Mr Seamus Doyle were both present at the prestigious awards ceremony. This was a major achievement for the Banbridge area and the Golfkeel Self-Catering units gives tourists a unique opportunity to stay in a rural location while only one mile from Banbridge town centre and can cater for up to twelve visitors with all en-suite bedrooms.

Both Oonagh & John were delighted with this accolade. Since then Golfkeel has received further accolades having been highly commended for 2003-2004 in the NITB Awards. It was also the Provincial Winner in the prestigious Ulster Rural Tourism Awards for 2004-2005.
